“Double Breath” movie production

In mid-May of 2009, in New York, the taping of the film “Double Breath” had begun. The director and screenwriter is Rafal Januszczyk, producer of several dramas and documentaries. He is also the co-creator of “Filmowe Podlasie Atakuje” film festival, in existence since 2003, which is now also presented in New York City since 2008.

The storyline of the new film “Double Breath” (Podwójny Oddech), has to do with a polish poet Zbigniew Herbert.

In the early 1970s Herbert was a visiting professor at Los Angeles’ California State College, teaching Literature and Poetry. The protagonist of the film is one of his students, who inspired by Herbert;s persona, after many years, becomes a famed writer himself and a professor of Literature and and Poetry at NYU. This character has already written seven books, but has issues finishing the his latest work. The film tells the story how he finds the inspiration to finish his last book, film is also about the life of young New York students of Literature and about how matters of the past can change life in the present. Most of the film will be in English, and American actors will play most of the main roles: Dennis Jordan, Drew Vanderburg, Elizabeth Alderfer and Kevin O’Sullivan. Polish actors will include” Anna Podolak and Igor Litwinowicz. Cinematography of the film is composed by Patryk Rebisz. The end of production of the film is slated for spring 2010.
